There are more than eight thousand children in Tennessee's foster care system at any one time. Of these thousands of children, roughly 2% need a higher level of care due to intellectual and developmental disabilities. These at risk youth are often not receiving optimal care while waiting to be placed in specialized foster homes.
Additionally, there are over seven thousand adults with disabilities who need long term care and a place to call home. Nashville Foster Care provides specialized foster care services for those groups that are most in need.
